Started through climbing 5 months ago

First tried it at the New River Rendezvous climbing festival in West Virginia, was hooked pretty quickly. Fortunate enough to have lived with other climbers so we would set up a slackline often in our yard. Became good enough where I could stay on the line easily enough, but couldn’t do many tricks or walk really far. I need more practice but really would eventually like to try highlining. It’s a great way to relax and hang out with friends.

    Bought it 7 months ago

I ordered some webbing and some biners from REI. I’m going to set up a simple rig at first and later I might buy something more substantial from slackline express.

    buying this

Edit: Stopped thinking. Bought it. I’ll pick it up on Saturday, although I’m pretty sure I’ll have to wait until my twisted ankle is healed before I start trying it out.

The key: don’t be afraid to fall.

    it's awesome 16 months ago

Totally worth doing. Great excercise for core strength, it’s improved my climbing which was why I did it in the first place and it attracts the love, confidence respect and understanding of all around you. Especially the opposite sex.

This looks like something I would really enjoy. I just don’t know if I should buy a kit or build one from scratch.

my friend Shaun, who is in this video http://youtube.com/watch?v=nnU9Sa0530Y just sent me a slackline so hopefully I will start learning soon!

    its good 2 years ago

I love slacklining, its fun on its own, but the best part is that it brings people together. Setting up a slackline is like inviting any friend or passer-by to come to and hang out with you for however long they want. Its a great way to make friends!

Rhymes with Emily its been a long couple months but I'm back!

So I practiced some more today. I made it all the way across my 20 foot line twice. It was pretty cool. Now about 90 percent of the time I make it half way. I am getting sorta good.
