Two Postcards
11 months ago
Last December, I wrote my first postcard to a girl in Finland ~ she wanted to be an architectural student, and was looking forward to leaving her home country, and travelling. There were no stamps available, so I put it back into the plastic bag, and somehow ended up losing track of it.
Someone must have found the postcard, and mailed it for me, because it was registered last month, and I received two postcards last week ~ such nice surprises. :) One came from a young woman in Puerto Rico, and the second came from a man from the Canary Islands ~ his postcard featured an Almond tree. So pretty. :)

I received a postcard from a very nice girl in Holland, my first! I am very excited to see where all the rest will be from! I will take a picture of the postcard and post it when I get home.

postcrossing seems like a great idea – and it potentially is;
except my brief experience has shown me that its actually isnt all that.
After signing up and explaining my reasons for doing so, about my life, hobbies, interests etc etc, i recieve a postcard from someone in Germany with a picture of some kind of anonymous graphic on the front with a message saying “hi, hope you enjoy postcrossing, bye” and the next three haven’t been much more interesting…
with people lacking to engage in any form of conversation and worse still sending postcards which have no relevance whatsoever the whole thing becomes pointless.
I signed up orginally because my girlfriend loved postcards and i thought it would be a cool thing to try, but it seems that receiving single sentences from boring strangers isnt what 94% of people here think is worth doing..
