How I did it: Well I decided that even though I don't have a lot of money (in fact I'm flat broke a lot of the time) I probably blow at least $32 a month on stuff I totally don't need, and thats all it costs to sponser a child so he or she can get an education, one hot meal a day, and clothes. So about a year ago I signed up to sponser a little girl in Guatemala through Compassion International.
She is 7 and writes me the cutest letters and draws me a picture every time. She always tells me that she and her family pray for me every night and that she is so grateful. I feel so blessed to be able to help her out and its so great to know that I am making a difference in the life of a child and a family I have never met who is half a world away. I just sent my money for her Christmas present today and even though money is a bit tight at the moment and I could probably use that money, I wouldn't have it any other way.
