I really want to do this, but i know that sharks are more active at night sooo :///
How to swim in the ocean at night
How I did it: I drove down to the beach with my friend, we stripped down behind some rocks, then we went for a swim! When we saw headlights, we ran out of the water, put our clothes back on, and went home! It was a lot of fun!
Lessons & tips: Make sure you don't get caught!

My friend wants me to do it with him on vacation, so I need to sum up the courage and hope the sharks aren’t hungry! Exciting, Exhilarating, Terrifying.
I’d wanted to do this forever, but was always scared because like most people, I’d been told that sharks move closer to shore after sunset. But on a trip to Hawaii, I was just giddy (read: tipsy) enough to wander into the Pacific with a friend. It was lovely… the lights shining along the beach against the pitch-black of the ocean, starry sky overhead, faint music from a nearby restaurant. So peaceful, and such a beautiful memory of a beautiful place.
Swimming in the ocean on a dark night is like swimming through a sea of black velvet. Everybody should do this!
I’ve done this twice, both times with friends. The water is actually warmer than during the day because it’s been heated for so long so it’s warmer in the water than out of it! It’s a really great experience, swimming under the stars – go for it!
at night it’s kinda scary cuz you can’t see what’s swimming in the water right around you, but this unknown element adds to the excitement.
The glowing sparkles in the water will cling to your skin and make the experience all the more magical. Go with a partner if you’re scared!

I remember the first time I did this. It was the middle of January in North Carolina and all the natives thought I was crazy to be out in that kind of ‘cold.’ The water felt so incredibly warm though, and the waves were large and harsh…threatening to pull me under. The most incredible part is not being able to see what you’re swimming with, or how far out you’ve gone.
