How to visit China
It made me
knowledgeable
 "Interesting, challenging, memorable..."
How I did it: Went to Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai. Very strange land in some ways...lots of smog, lots of people. People were VERY kind...genuinely kind. Food...not so good to me. Sites are amazing, interesting. I cried on the Great Wall...very emotional...you realize you are so far from home! Met people there who had never met a foreigner. HIGHLY recommend riding BUSINESS CLASS if you can on the airplane...got an upgrade from coach to business class for only $650 the day of the flight and got 6.5 hours of sleep on the way there. On the way back...road in coach...slept 1.5 hours...arrghh...not so fun since it is a 17 hour flight. Also highly recommend hiring a tour guide for an extended trip. Language is an issue... |

How I did it: I've been there by tour wz many good colleagues(all 6) total group tour 19 ppl, we all had good and bad time together.. but almost of the time there was good... just a food... quite bad >< .. maybe it's about us, Thai foods are spicy and more yummy to us I love Chinese Great Wall... very hard to be on the top and i could not be there lol (so wonder how can they did it) ps.i don't know why.. they have to put water o… Read how I did it…

Over the past week we have been doing some planning and research to enable us to keep costs down and possibly go on a holiday in a few years time. I will continue this research over the next few days and the put a more detailed entry in probably next week. But we are certainly hoping to pull this holiday off in a few years time.

Re-opened Due to Cheaper Airline Prices.

I have re-opened this goal because I am putting it down as one of the places I may travel to in 2011. I am tossing up between Beijing and Angkor. I will go to Beijing first if the holiday is not too expensive. Given that a discount airline called Air Asia has opened up on the Gold Coast where you can fly to Kuala Lumpur and then to a city near Beijing. The price of a trip has been reduced dramatically. So the cost issue may be able to be overcome and we may actually get to Beijing. I have also re-opened the goal of seeing the Great Wall of China because of this new possibility 21/06/09.

I have a neighbor and he just returned from China. He shared his photos of his trip and they were so spectacular that I hope to start saving and hopefully make this dream come true.
