This is not another charity by a celebrity as a tax write off. “Project Genesis” would combine the power of established charities like One.org, Habitat for Humanity, Unicef, etc. to solve poverty issues once and for all. Instead of working piecemeal in countries, I envision all of the charities pooling their resources and working on an area until many of their majors issues are resolved: clean water, housing, food, medical and dental care. I think if all of the groups concentrated on a few areas at a time (say, cities instead of entire countries), instead of the big picture all at once, then we could get closer to resolving the big picture. The reason I call it “Project Genesis” is because every step taken would be environmentally-sound. Green building supplies, using equipment with low emissions, etc. and learning from the industrialized world’s mistakes in building up the developing world. Bringing all of these groups together wouldn’t simply help other countries, but the U.S. as well, since New Orleans still could use a helping hand as well as other cities ravaged by natural disasters.
How I can fulfill this on my list: Well, this one is all on me. Writing to all of the groups to get them involved, detailing the “business plan” of how we can achieve these goals. Hopefully, there will be willing participants to build this world anew.
