perfectme10this is a great goal

and already it is a habit. 3 years ago

perfectme10doing it is fun

Been doing this when I think of it.
I think it is a very sweet goal. 3 years ago

perfectme10This is the neatest goal

Even me being sick I tried this last night and it was amazing.
I lit a candle and took a bunch of trash off the table, among many other things as I came and went from rooms. I told my kids to try it and how easy and fun it is to think how we can leave it a better place.
I got the counters and sink done even though I am sick, and that was a miracle! 3 years ago

ser916such a great and easy idea

I love this – and already can think of a bunch of ways to do it. Can’t wait to start…! 3 years ago

soundoftreesPart of me

This is part of me. I don’t think I need to track my progress on this one now. 4 years ago

soundoftreesjust a little better

It’s my last day in my job tomorrow. I didn’t end up finishing what I set out to do but I did leave what I was doing in a better shape than when I started. That’s a win. 4 years ago

knboyce9It might turn into a bad habit

razz51I believe this is one goal that is actually part of me

and I don’t feel like I need to track my progress on it. I believe I will continue to do this as long as I can. 4 years ago

Kitty KitchenI can't help it!

I’ve realised that this was a pretty silly goal for me to set. Due to my obsessive compulsive qualities, I already do this with meticulous impulsiveness!
I can hardly leave my house if its not clean…If I walk past a power outlet with nothing in it, I HAVE to switch it off…I pick other people’s rubbish off the bus…I spellcheck people’s emails (annoying for them I know).

Yeah.

Isn’t it weird when you set a goal and then actually realise that its something you already do/have done!? 5 years ago

MorghanzaHow great..

It could be, if every one in this world could do this. We would live in such a better place. I plan to start doing this, and maybe others will catch on! 5 years ago

undercover_lauraconstantly

DenverGreenTrying to change little things

I’m glad I found this goal on here as its something I’ve been trying to do for a while. At the moment I’m trying to change peoples attitudes to bus drivers in London. As everyone is using a swipe card system instead of paying for bus tickets no-one is talking to the bus drivers any more and so people are not even thanking them at all like they do where I used to live in Oxford. They are people too and it must be horrible to work all day with no-one talking to them unless its to complain. So I try and say hello each time i get on and thanks when i get off. If i keep doing this maybe someone else will and then who knows… 5 years ago

i’ve got alot of ideas for this goal..
just little things ive been thinking about here and there..
this goal is definitely going to be twofold for me..
the obvious physical aspect of it..but also..a more mental attitude..like after an encounter with a stranger..leaving them a little better than i found them..even if its just a smile.. 5 years ago

undercover_laurazebra crossings

i always lift my hand as a gesture to cars who stop on zebra crossings so i can cross. i know every one is meant to but some dont. if you acknowledge their good deed they are happier and more likely to stop for others( i know i do).. and youve left crossings and the roads abit better!! this does count!!im not talking rubbish! :-) 5 years ago

razz51the wreck that wasn't

A couple of months ago I was in a wreck. It was scary, expensive and painful. No one at the scene stepped forward to say “I saw what happened.”

This week I drove a familiar, short stretch of road I drive all the time. It’s residential, speed limit 25 mph. As I drove toward a little intersection the pickup truck coming toward me was hit by a car that was clearly speeding and didn’t even slow down for the stop sign. Ten seconds later, he would have hit me, not the truck. I stopped, got out to make sure everyone was breathing and gave my card to the man, badly shaken, in the truck. I told him I was a witness and would be happy to tell what I’d seen and that I’d seen it all.

I think the other guy was high or drunk and I’d wager he’s not insured, either. I just hope my willingness to testify improves what I know is a really sucky experience! 5 years ago

undercover_lauragoing slowly

i havent realy found things big to do. i pick random bits of litter up, put things back in the supermarket in the right place and do the washing up for my flatmate.
what have u guys been doing??? 5 years ago

razz51Today

I pugged about 500 lbs of clay so my prof wouldn’t have to. He hates the task; I don’t mind it. When I quit to glaze my pots he came back from lunch and saw that the dreaded job was done and he was free to go on to the next task, one he likes better. I think this qualifies! 5 years ago

Dmitry FedoseevImagine

Imagine what the world it would be if at least every hundredth one will do it!

You may say that I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one :) 6 years ago

razz51My mom always said to do this

She always made us scrub our apartment when we moved. One time I reminded her that when we moved in it was dirty and I couldn’t understand why we had to clean it when we left. She said I would never go wrong if I always left everything a little better than when I found it. She was right. 6 years ago

asteriskthe girl at Starbucks today,

during my one trip outside the conference hotel, told me, “You seem like a really nice person.” She said it embarrassed-like; I hadn’t done anything but order a grande soy cinnamon latte like the soulless yuppette that I am. I told her she seemed nice too.

That just made my day. I’m not inherently the nicest person, so it’s good to see that maybe my efforts paid off. 6 years ago

AdarI saw this on someone's list...

and it sounded like something I’ve been doing about my homes for years. Ever since my first home after college, I’ve tried to come up with some small improvement for every place I’ve lived. On a couple of places it was major (replaced a damaged foundation under a house) and in most it has been pretty minor (I think the smallest was rehanging and fixing a sticky cabinet door) but it has been a “thing” of mine all along. 7 years ago

asteriski love this goal

Stole it from Sarah… it’s so loving and simple and modest, and I think it goes to the heart of who I want to be. 7 years ago

YolandaUntitled

I’d like to think I’ve done this. It can be as much for others as it is for you. You can learn from the process of making your contributions, possibly creating opportunities in the midst of it, and leave your mark/legacy somewhere which hopefully improves the culture of a place that’s a part of your history. 7 years ago
