My hair is about 8 inches now. Hope to donate in 4-6 months.

How I did it: I've done it three times now, last one was a few weeks ago. Every 2 years I cut off 11 inches (my lucky number) although this time I distracted my mother and it was actually 12 inches on one side and 11 on the other. Ooops. I love getting it cut off, so much so I find it hard now to wait until it's long enough because I have so much fun with it short plus I get so much joy out of knowing someone will benefit from me… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I grew my hair out for two years or so. I simply shampooed, conditioned, and never ever straightened or blow dried or bleached my hair. I learned to work with the texture of my hair. Finally, my healthy hair had grown down to my butt. I went to the salon and asked the stylist to cut off 15 inches in a paonytail. By the end I still had lots of length (past the shoulders), and I put my ponytail in a box and shipped it to Locks of Love. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I CHOPPED OFF 11 INCHES OF HAIR AND MAILED THAT BITCH.my sister in law has a license in hair shtuff and i found an address online and an application for locks of love so she put my hair in a ponytail and chopped it then threw it across the room. i had a silent heart attack but everythings ok now Read how I did it…
How I did it: Liked it long, but I grew it out much longer than normally I am comfortable with. I had to have 12 inches! My husband cut it off for me at home, and I mailed it away. It was really nice to get the postcard in the mail a short time later. It is incredible to think that my hair is helping a child somewhere feel better about their appearance. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I never ever ever cut my hair. When I was 19 I was sick of it being so long, I decided to cut it all off. My mom (who was completely against me doing it) suggested that if I'm going to just throw my unwanted hair on the ground then I sould donate it. I went online and found a local salon that participated in the locks of love program, called them, made an apointment, and did it! It was great that I got a new look while helping someone else. I measured my hair today, because I’m getting a small trim to keep it healthy. My hair is 29 inches now.
It’s grown 22 inches in 7 years!
I think I can donate ten inches this month and still have shoulder length hair!
Didn’t expect to be ready so soon – maybe my hair was straighter today. Maybe I measured incorrectly. Hmmm – lemme check again. Damn, it doesn’t seem long enough.
Maybe I should just cut it anyway. It’s such a hot summer! I can absolutely deal with short hair for a while.
Now just need to decide whether to cut it before the family trip to new orleans or after…
Three years ago I started to grow out my shoulder length hair to donate to locks of love. But I started falling in love with this long hair and for awhile stayed away from my original goal. My hair had become my security blanket and whether it be because of fear of how I might look with short hair or the wondering if I would I be sexy with short hair and if guys still be attracted to me with short hair; All of these questions thwarted me. Until I read this article about living consciously and I took my first step to do that.
I made an appointment with my hairstylist, and found some pictures of styles I might like, and went the salon.
30 Minutes later, with 18 inches of love to send I came out.

I’m donating 10” of my hair to Locks of Love, which I cut yesterday after some delays. I’m pretty glad about this, and I just need to mail off my hair and I will be crossing this goal off of my list.
Although, I would definitely want to do this goal at least one more time in my life, especially since this is my second time. My first time was 21 months ago, and I’m sure I’ll be able to complete this goal and donate hair to Locks of Love once more, at the least.

I want to donate my hair. Then some person that need it more then me can have it I am trying to get it done. I hope I can donate my hair very soon….
I donated about two years ago (october ‘07 i think?) and it’s almost time to do it again.
It was much more difficult this time around since I really wanted to cut (chop) my hair (off) several times and when I went in for ‘just a trim’ about 2 inches was cut off!
It takes forever, but I know it will be worth it! I have 10 inches to give now, but that would leave my hair by my chin (not a good look for me, I’m sure). I’m looking for the hair to sit right at my shoulders when it’s cut.
I’m thinking my hair will be ready to donate by October again. But hopefully before!

I’m planning on cutting my hair on Monday, the 29th. Hopefully that works out, and I’m looking forward to hair that’s easier to manage. It’ll go from being pretty long, to just at my chin level!
I found out last night that if you have treated your hair by streaks, color, perm, etc then you can’t do this. Bummer. I will always dye my hair since I get grey hair around my forehead! :(

hoping its long enough, ready for a change!
