It is on the patio. I had not checked on it for several months. Bamboo are VERY forgiving. It drank up the water I gave it. There was only a little bit of brown leaves. I now have a new resolve to take care of my plants.
How to sustain a houseplant for more than one year
How I did it: I still remember going to the garden centre to get this plant. I actually bought two, but one died; there was only so much room on the window sill. But I did make an educated decision; I put the one which said it liked shady places in my bedroom and the other one on my window sill. Unfortunately, the shady plant died, but the other one on the window sill has flourished! It's grown to at least twice the size and has flowered throughout the year. I may not have had this plant a whole year yet, but it's fully settled in and there's no chance of it dying so I guess that means i've completed this goal. I'll post another message when I do finally have the plant for a year.
Lessons & tips: PUT THE PLANT ON A WINDOWSILL! And if it's your first time buying a plant, only buy one, concentrate on that one, water reguarly (unless stated otherwise) and talk to it (honestly this works: The carbon dioxide released in your breath along with water vapour is absorbed and used by your plant for photosynthesis which helps the plant grow, it rewards you by releasing oxygen and other calming odours into your room)
Resources: A good, wholesome garden centre did the trick for me, ask a shop assistent (and make sure you grab one that looks like they know a lot about plants, not a student who's there to make a bit of cash) and tell them exactly what room the plant's gonna be in and they should be able to point you in the right direction for a suitable plant for you.

Over the past few years, my room has acquired a new smell…and I have no-idea what it is, only that I don’t like it. Solution? You may say open the window, but at this time of year it gets really cold and I spend a lot of time in my room so i really needed an easier solution.
A couple of weeks later, the answer struck me, HOUSE PLANTS! They oxygenate the room, relieve stress and are low maintence…perfect.
My 2 bamboo are growing fine. My garlic died from not getting watered enough. 1 of my bamboo are in water, the other is in soil. After neglecting the plants for several months, the plant that is in only water is doing the best.
My bamboo is doing better. One part is starting to grow leaves, the other part appears to be growing roots, at least it is still green and not turning any more brown. I slso have a garlic growing. I don’t think I watered it enough, the leaves are wilted.
The only houseplant I have right now is Bamboo. I was not taking care of it very well. It was turning brown in the middle. I divided it up and made 2 plants out of it. I am more committed to taking care of it now.
I have several houseplants. I need to take care of them better. I know it would not take much time and it would feel good to be encouraging life.
