It’s 5:50am, I’ve added all I can to my list, Instead of spending more time online I’m going to sleep!
How to get to sleep earlier
How I did it: I am now getting to bed before midnite, which is much better than 3am. I try not to drink coffee after 9pm, but rather have a cup right after dinner. Sometimes I wake up during the night to pee, but I try not to raid the fridge anymore. It was hard at first, your body gets used to those midnite snacks. My doctor wanted to prescribe sleeping pills, but the last time I tried some there were just too many side-effects. It seems that now I am having more dreams, also they are more vivid. Getting that REM sleep is what makes you feel more refreshed in the morning.

I have been getting to bed now around midnite, which is alot better than the 2-3am time that I was going to bed. Last night I woke up at 2:30am and had a bowl of fruit loops. I love my midnite snacks. Especially bacon and eggs. I used to get the Hormel Black Label bacon, but due to their company policies we have been actively boycotting hormel products. So now I buy the Korn King bacon, and I gotta say it is really tasty pig. I like to baste my eggs with the hot bacon grease, and then I stick the end of the bacon strip right into the yolk and eat it that way. When I make the toast I get some real butter and put some on each corner of the white bread, and then on chunk in the middle. Then I put into the oven and broil until the bread becomes a nice toasty brown. Whatver egg yolk is leftover I scoop up with the toast. Sometimes I just break the bacon strips into little bits and then squash it together with the egg with my fork and put that on my oven broiled toast. MmmMmm, man I am getting hungry right now for some bacon eggs & toast. If Junior is still up and about around midnite I will go ahead and make him a snack also and we will sit at the dining room table together. Nothing better than sharing with family.
right now my housemate is having a heck of a time getting enough sleep. I don’t know what else to tell her, so I sent her a link to this site and perhaps that will help. I think there are studies out there that say if you get to bed at 10pm it’s better than 10:30 which is better than 11, etc. so, I’ll keep looking for those, for now, though, it’s good to know others have a similar goal. heck, it could be a goal for me and my girlfriend, too!!!
shoeless is fat...
So… This is pretty counter-productive. The stupid thing is… Now that I have to work nights, I have no trouble falling asleep at 10pm. But I work from 7pm to 7am.

I like to sleep. I look forward to getting a full night’s sleep. I feel better when I’ve had enough sleep. I feel less depressed when I’ve had enough sleep. I don’t get as many migraines when I have regular sleep hours. I have more energy when I’ve had enough sleep. I’m not as grumpy when I’ve had enough sleep. I can’t guarantee that I won’t be woken up too early in the morning, so the only way to ensure that I’ll get enough sleep is to go to bed earlier.
Why is this so difficult to get through my head?

In just a few weeks I’m going to have to make a major change in my routine. My daughter will be starting middle school, and class starts considerably earlier than it does in elementary school. I’ll have to wake up about an hour earlier than I was last year, and I was struggling even with that. Instead of aiming for a midnight bedtime, which I rarely made, I will have to aim for 11 p.m. That’s incredibly early for me. This summer I’ve been going to bed around 2:30 and waking up at 10, just because I can.
Since it’s so drastic for me, I figure I’d better stop implementing change early. Beginning this week, I’ll aim for 1, and then move it back each week.
I need to remind myself:- I like to sleep
- Getting enough sleep is healthy
- Going to bed early should feel like a luxury, not a punishment
- I have more energy and I’m more productive when I’ve had enough sleep
- I get fewer migraines when I have enough sleep and a regular sleep schedule
- I’m a nicer person when I go to bed early because then I’m not mad at someone who might wake me up in the morning, thinking that it’s a “reasonable hour”, and in fact, maybe it is actually…

I would really like to go to sleep now, but there’s a few things on my to-do list I haven’t done yet, and they really should be done tonight, but I really don’t want to do them. I know I shouldn’t go to bed until they’re done, but since I don’t want to do them right now, I’ll just end up staying up later and later, until finally I realize that I’m not going to get them done tonight and I’ll be overly tired tomorrow, so I won’t want to do them tomorrow either. Really not a good situation.

I imagine this will be a long process. You know that feeling ou have when you look up at the clock and think to yourself, “Wow, how did it get so late? I’d better go to bed!”? For me, that time isn’t until 2 a.m. or later. I need to move my bedtime ahead so that my inner sleep alarm is closer to midnight or so.
going to sleep early sucks..no fun at all, you go to sleep early, miss your favorite tv shows, then wake up only to go to school, or work, which you hate….

...but since I am joining a team goal, I will “retire” this one rather than delete it. (Hey Revered Robots, we really do need a “Fail” option… please?)
