How to master public speaking by funzee

"I've never felt completely comfortable speaking in public. I decided I really wanted to change that, and I did. Now I'm not nervous at all!"

How I did it: Setting up specific events (like submitting to a conference) forced me to just do it! I spoke about 8 times in the past year to groups of 20 to 200. And did it thru practice, practice, practice!


First time it took about 2 months to prepare and rehearse the content. The more I did it, the less time I needed for content writing and rehearsing.

    Well, I just did a reading at a wedding a few days ago in front of about 150 people. Quite proud of myself. I asked my family if I seemed nervous, and they said ‘I was nervous for you, but when you spoke, you didnt seem nervous at all, you spoke loudly and confidently.’ That was great feedback, because if you looked behind the podium, you could see my legs shaking like an old geiser on his walker heading to bingo night.

    public speaking is scary 3 years ago

    a huge part of my job, i’ve never felt comfortable public speaking. I would love to give a talk without having a major freak out session beforehand.
