deal with photos and memory books

Professional is in quotes, because while Disney pays people to take your photos, the quality varies widely. Some of them are magnificent while others are crooked. However, I’ve added borders and cropped them and ordered the CD of images. 376 of them. How am I ever going to turn them, along with my (complete with my fair share of crooked pictures and a random shot or two of the dark or my leg) 800 pictures into something worth looking at?!?

Not to mention the school year has started so I’ve added dozens of pictures of my students and my own two children to the digital pile.

I took just over 800 pictures during six days at Disney World. The Disney photographers took another 140 pictures, which I’ve played with on their website and edited into 200 or so pictures. It’s going to take a while.

I got the books put together for Jan. all the way to May. June and July will be put together in one book, and it’s current with the pictures downloaded from the camera. I’ll try to get that one finished and ready to order by Aug. 1. (I might not order it then but rather wait for a good sale/coupon!) Now I need to focus on the baby calendar (for the 4 year old!) and the Christmas books, then I’ll tackle pictures dating back to 2002. One step at a time.

I’ve decided to give up on single prints that are never going to make it out of boxes into photo albums. I’m going to try to create those online photo books and just have them printed for me. I’ve decided to start with the current calendar year and so far I’ve gotten January and June done and am current with July. It’s a start.

Oh dear. 257 photos, in no particular order are on my kitchen table. My goal is to get off the computer and sort out who I ordered what for (Mom, Dad, sister, students at school, grandparents, friends, parents of friends of the kids…) and then box the rest back up until school gets out for the summer!

I needed prints for the students’ memory books, so I wound up ordering about 200 prints of home pictures, too. It’s the first time I’ve gotten prints from this calendar year. I’m in trouble next week when the box arrives.

I knew it would come back to me eventually and I could fix this goal. I just didn’t think it would take less than 5 minutes.

Driving down the road with the children today, I thought of something that would make a terrific goal. 3 hours later, I haven’t a clue what it was. Here’s a spot to hold its place, so when I do think of it, I will hopefully remember to add it. Maybe I should add a goal about improving my memory, too.
