I did it; so can you.  — 2 weeks ago

Worth doing!

I did have to get some medical assistance though. My sugar was high and even though the diet really helps cut back the cravings being a diabetic, I needed appetite suppressants. My sugar is down now and so is my weight. Can’t wait to start phase 2

On again off again  — 4 weeks ago

Worth doing!

Well I have hit a bump in the road. My sleeping patterns are all messed up. I slept all day today and when I woke up it was almost 9pm. I hadn’t eaten since last night, so I was starving got into the car went to Arby’s and bought sandwiches. So I fell off the wagon today. But, I’m not going to keep spiraling. I’ll get up tomorrow and get it together.

Trying it again.  — 4 weeks ago

I have lost and gained 10 pounds over the last 15 years. That is between and after having three children within three and one-half years. I seem to keep it off for a year then put it back on. I’ve done Weight Watchers and South Beach. I decided to give South Beach a try again because I don’t have the mind set to keep track of my points on WW. I decided to go with SB because I am high risk for diabetes. Both of my parents are type 2 and I have two siblings that are also. Also, I carry my weight in my stomach and waist. I’ve lost four pounds so far with four days left of phase one. I was really hoping to lose that nasty 10. Hopefully I can still lose during phase 2. Has anybody had luck losing during the second phase?

My blood sugar finally came down  — 4 weeks ago

Worth doing!

It is still a little high 194, but not too bad for after noon. My fasting today was pretty bad 260. I just had a flash…I should check out the diabetic 43 entries.

Today I had another omlette. I used smoked sausage which was 6 carbs for two ounces. I was surprised it was that much, but I was shocked that I opened up a food scale I bought like ten years ago and actually weighed it…I must be serious??? LOL I need to get started on my work out video.

A bump  — 1 month ago

Worth doing!

Well, last night or rather about 1am I hit the chips. It is hard because when I get hungry, I grab the bread. I was totally depressed when I got up today. But I realize, I just have to be inventive. So I went shopping and got some snack foods…it is just that it is cold cuts and veggies. Yellow squash is substantial and can be used for mini sandwiches.

I also got a new MP3 player tonight as I lost my other one. I’m making a bootylicious work out playlist for walking in the evening.

Great meal for breakfast  — 1 month ago

Worth doing!

I had another good meal. I made a onion and squash frittata with cheese sour cream and I had cottage cheese on the side. Nice little breakfast. I honestly didn’t think about lunch. I need to thaw out some chicken for supper.

South Beach is so Sweet  — 1 month ago

Worth doing!

Last night I made a great low carb dinner that hit the spot and seemingly rescued me from the urge to go to Sonic for my nightly Oreo Blast. I know the cravings for SWEETS will lessen. I had a bag of frozen cauliflower and two sauteed chicken breast with cottage cheese. OMG easy to make, delicious, and filling.

I’m going to go make a kitchen sink omlett for breakfast. I must be getting better.

4 lbs lost  — 2 months ago

Worth doing!

I lost four pounds over the two weeks and got rid of any cravings for carbs or sweets. I think it was definitely worth it. I only have a small amount of weight to lose (15 pounds) and so this is over 1/4 of that weight! I am ready to eat more normally again after 2 weeks of no breads/grains/starches/fruit

One more day left and then I get fruit again!

Almost done--Day 10  — 3 months ago

Worth doing!

Only 4 days left. This doesn’t really feel like a diet anymore. It’s usually hard to cut carbs out for the first few days (and alcohol), but now I barely notice. I’m looking forward to phase 2 so that I can start eating fruit, carrots, and wine again and have some more options when cooking, though. Already down 4 pounds!
