Ride my bicycle across Canada

Finally got my hands on a Surly Long Haul Trucker frameset! I’m currently just building it up, and in June I’m going to ride this baby all the way from my home in Edmonton, Alberta to Cape Spear, Newfoundland!

I’ll have to wait until next year, this year it’s just across B.C.

I leave for my adventure in 3 weeks on the 5th of June. I really can’t wait…i’m scared, nervous and excited. I thought about doing this 6 months ago and i’ve been saving up for it since. I wish everybody could do something this big…well good luck to all those who are willing to make this trek.

I dont want to ride across canada.. I want to rtide form Calgary, Alberta to Pilly, PA

Riding a bicycle across the U.S. is a standard accomplishment for bicycle tourists and I would like to do it one day. But I took a bus across the western part of Canada and I think that crossing Canada on a bicycle would be a harder challenge than riding across the U.S. Plus it would be an opportunity to meet lots of Canadians! The weather would be a factor, the distance, and the isolation.

I think it would be eye opening for me. I have only explored the more touristy parts of Canada. So getting into the country would be interesting.
