I think so!
How I did it: Last Christmas was the first one without my mother (dang, this year of firsts is hard!) and I didn't realize until driving to Christmas Eve dinner how hard it was all going to be. Needless to say, it was a complete disaster. Lots of crying. Lots of staring out at the skyline wondering when she was going to get here.
After the holidays, I realized I needed to make plans for Christmas 2010 before I was caught off guard again and it seemed the perfect time to plan a trip somewhere warm for the holidays. Something I've always wanted to do and certainly, something that would disrupt the traditions enough to allow some space for healing. Maybe Christmas 2011 will be easier in Pittsburgh.

I’ve gone on a few cool vacations, but still not the elusive tropical, warm weather, escape from the winter blues, all relaxing all the time vacation. We’re thinking maybe early 2009? Depends our respective job situations. But early leaders are Cancun, Florida (Discovery Cove) and Vegas.

I’m going to Las Vegas on May 9th, but does it really count? I put this one on here because I wanted to holiday somewhere warm while it was freezing here in Michigan. Now it’s getting warm here, and it’ll be plain HOT in Vegas.
I don’t know if I can check this one off

Let me think, I’ve been to lots of warm places in Australia – in northern NSW, Queensland and the Northern Territory. I’ve been to Fiji and Tahiti. I’ve been to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore in Southeast Asia. I’ve been to Brazil. And when I went to Europe in 1989 they were having a heatwave, so even places like England were pretty warm (Italy was scorching). Oh and I went to california that year too.

Plans are underway for a November / December vacay to Vegas. More to come.
