PurpleHeather has both her father and father-in-law in different hospitals right now
We’ve really enjoyed this goal and know that we’ll continue doing this – it’s essential to spend quality time with each other in order for a relationship to continue growing.

Week 50
I took my mum for a long weekend away which didn’t leave much time for hubby. Hubby and I have spent a lot of time together recently and my mum needed the break more.
Week 51
The run up to Christmas was a little mad for both of us. We didn’t get to spend a large quantity of time together but sat and vegged out in front of the TV when we had the chance.
Week 52
We went out for a lovely meal to celebrate the anniversary of meeting. We always go out on this day and the food and wine were lovely but not as lovely as my dining companion. What a good end to the year :)

We went to see a friend’s band last night. 3/4 of the band used to be in a band we saw regularly a few years ago. It was a really good show and loads of friends were there too. We all went to a nearby pub afterwards which was also fun.

We went to the 35th anniversary of our favourite restaurant (with vintage food prices).
We went to see Muse at Wembely arena.
We went to the cinema to see the 3D version of Nightmare Before Christmas.
We went to see Laibach (guestie – poor gig and I wouldn’t have been happy to pay £17 for that show).
All in all a busy week.

When we were on the way to the farmer’s market yesterday we passed our favourite (but rarely visited) restaurant. They were celebrating 35 years of being in business and today was the anniversary. We booked in for 5.30pm as all their tables after 7pm were already booked up. All the food was the same price as when they opened.
We had a 3 course meal for £5.50 each. The drinks were 2006 prices though and we spent more on drinks than on food.
We had a lovely time and have put in a reservation for a celebratory meal in December. Looking forward to it already.

We went to an acousic show of a rock band we know. It was great – low down dirty blues rock. I was impressed.
We went out with them afterwards and had a snack and beer whilst they had something more substantial with beers. It was a fun night.

Once a year our favourite band play London – well they only usually play 1 gig a year – and we went along meeting friends in the venue and afterwards outside in the rain, in a dry pub, outside in the rain again and at the aftershow party. We didn’t stay too late and got the night bus home.
We always have a friend stay with us from the Netherlands and he’s just gone home. Yesterday we all went round Camden market and had a couple of Japanese meals – lunch and dinner.
It was a good weekend.

We met up with friends in Camden and went to Wagamamas – they hadn’t been before and then went to a gig at the newly refurbished Roundhouse.
We saw The Dresden Dolls again. A fantastic band who made the whole evening into a show. There were never gaps between bands where you talked and were a little bored – they had performers and musicians on small stages around the main area and entertainers there too and in the foyer, on the stairs. What a great evening.
It was filmed for DVD so we can’t wait until we see that.

This weekend was pretty mixed – high of taking my dad out of hospital for lunch with all the family and low of being told I was being made redundant.
We didn’t have time for a date over the weekend but had tix for a gig on Monday. A cheapie gig (£9) for a new band we didn’t know too much about when we bought the tix. We bought the CD and loved it so were looking forward to it.
The Young Knives put on a great show – perhaps one of the best gigs of the year.
We’ll be back for more of this band. YAY.

We went to see a friend’s band play in a venue in Earls Court and had a great time. We got there earlier than we thought we would (long story) and they got there later than we thought they would. Oh well some quality time for us then.
We had a really tasty and relaxed meal in a very nice Chinese restaurant (was very good value too) then met up with them and chatted whilst they had a meal – we had drinks and 6 people ate so the restaurant was happy.
We saw their new line-up with their new bassist and he fitted in well muscially but didn’t give off any rocker vibes. That will come with time.
