How I did it: I worked incredibly hard for most of my honours years - not always well, but hard. When coursework was due in and exams were coming up, I gave up any kind of a social life or even much relaxation time. The last five months in particular were hell. Read how I did it…

about to start on my final year project workin for a first class honors in 8months time i dint do too well last year but there hope to redeem myself im determined but it scares the hell outta me hoping to get support!!!!
Ultra-über-yaying! It looks like the longest goal I’ve achieved (in terms of when it came true minus wen I started aiming to get it). 2 years, 7 months, 9 days—take that, lack of self-determination!
If I understand my academic regulations completely, I should get something like 72% overall, with a 80% mark for my third year reseacrh projcet (mistyping to avoid googling).
Oh YAY, happy me! It’s definitely worth it, if you consider the sheer pleasure of achieving a long-term goal that will srve you for the rest of your (employed) life.
Thanks to the eternal and tireless supporters, as well!! ;)
... and meanwhile: relaxation, travel, reading, sipping iced teas on terraces, and no thinking. (Ok, or very little.)
that I wrote my first entry on this goal.
I’m pretty near—it’s gonna be over just tomorrow, in fact. It’s my very-last-ultimate-this-one-is-the-one deadline, and it’s tomorrow. I haz degree tomorrow. Well, not technically, I’ll only get the results on the 2nd July.
But hey, one thing hasn’t changed in over two years: I’M DAMN PROCRASTINATING HERE, on the very last night of my degree.
Ok. Last essay. Been accepted at a great university for an MA next year. I’ll likely get a 1:1 in July, or so I hope.
Self-talk: Move. your. ass. now!
Sure it’ll require me to average a 92% in 4th year, because ive done so shit in the previous 3 years but im gonna do it!!! I’ll see ye this time next year!
Well I have just started revising for my finals! Ahhhh
It is so scary. I keep getting really nervous and worried but then i just do nothing, so i really need to get out of that cycle.
4 weeks til first exam, 6 weeks til i finish.
I got the date wrong on this though, i don’t find out til 13th june, but guess i’ll know on how well the exams go :s
wish me luck with the revision!
I want to get a first for my History degree. And maybe do a PHD. Dr Newman sounds rather good, methinks.
I did it – eventually – at the cost of making myself very ill and unhappy for a while. Depends on the degree of course, but you’ve got to ask yourself is it really worth it, do you want to give up on certain things to get it – still glad I did get it, but in the grand scheme of things, there’s much more important things than a piece of paper.
