Awesome site! I was just able to do 305 for the first time since High School today. I’m 22 years old and weighing in at 6’2 220. Pretty good feeling and I hope to get back up to 345 by the end of the year!

while 315 is a very good bench people encourage me to go further. after all I am only 20 and could most achive a much higher bench. possibly 500 or even 600 given another 5-8 years. however i feel content at 320 I will finish what protien I have and start cutting weight. mabye I can hit 340 before I do but I feel like no real since of achivement can come out of pushing for more weight when I’m already part of the top. it would prove to be exsessive if I felt I needed to press more than I already do.

I finally pressed it last weekend. I even did the pause at the bottom and used good form. It went up pretty easily. I warmed up before it with 155lb@10 reps, then 185lb 6 reps, then 215lb 4 reps, and then did the single 315lb, if anyone’s interested. I rested 1min, 2min, and 3min, respectively between sets. I saw this progression in an article from Flex magazine.

I pressed 10 reps of 235lb with good form. I’m confident I could do the 315lb now, but I’m going to wait a bit. If I pulled a muscle doing it and lost everything I’ve gained, I’d be really bummed. At least I’m gaining quickly. I’ve been eating alot of protein and lifting regularly. I also noticed that I can lift more weight using a bar that has a good bite to the grip.

I did 11 reps of 225lb on bench, so my est. max should be around 310lb. I’ll train a few more weeks and then try for 315lb with good form so I don’t lose what I’ve gained from an injury.



New job, new start 2 years ago

I finally finished up college and got my first real job out in los angeles. I moved away from almost everyone I know in the midwest, so with the absence of grad school and friends tempting me with beer, hopefully I’ll have more time to work out now, after a much too long period of neglect. I’ve lifted every day this week (alternating upper and lower body days) after work and I plan to do the same next week. My max is down to about 260. Four years ago I could do just over 300, so I’m hoping I can get back up quickly.

315 clean pressed 2 times. january i was at about 275. Hit it the other day. I’m juiced hyped up to keep pushing for more

275 came clean for 3 reps. I guess i’ll be getting my goal a lot sooner than expected ohhhhhhhhhh yea

i’m at about 205 in my own weight right now. I hit 275 the other day. im aimin on hittin that 315 once hopefully around april or may. also i hope to weigh around 215 maybe 220.
