I highly recommend doing this; I’m sure you use the computer as much as I do, and if you’re a power user then organizing your CD-ROMs (and even floppy disks) is even more critical.
The reason to do it is to save your precious time & energy; you organize it once & reap the benefits from then on.
I use bins like the ones shown in the picture; these can be bought from the dollar store (Sterilite, Rubbermaid, or similar) or from the retail store quite cheaply. The bins are easily stored away & pulled out when I need a CD-ROM. Very convenient and saves your time for other things.
I organize the CD-ROMs alphabetically starting with the company name (eg, Microsoft goes in “M,” Symantec goes in “S” and so forth) and then the product name.
