but I did have a party. Not that many people, partly because I put off inviting people for so long because I was nervous about it. But overall it was fun and I think I can count this as done!
How to host a great party
How I did it: I planned a lot more than I usually do - thought about what kind of atmosphere, food, drinks, music, and guests I wanted. I also enlisted the help of a friend who helped with the planning. I made lists of everything I would need and did the shopping the day before. Spent the entire evening the night before and almost the entire day of the party preparing.
Lessons & tips: Make a few fun drinks you can serve - it's more interesting than the usual and preparing them in advance reduces the stress. We made sangria, which is really easy and quite popular, as well as a vodka pineapple slushie and jello shots for fun.

To be honest, I forgot all about this one. But did have a small dinner party that was great fun, mostly because we kept it laid back. We’ve come up with an idea to have a party so now just need to plan it.
I am not a great host. I find it nerve-wracking, don`t have the basics at home to start with, and generally don`t understand how much work it takes. I went to a party in December that was absolutely fabulous in large part because the hostess put so much work into it. It inspired me to do the same at some point. I mean really really work at it, prep for days, have tons of food, alcohol, music, things laid out properly. I made need some help for the first one, but I think I can do it if I stop worrying about it failing.
