good housewife 4 weeks ago

Hello ladies!
My name is marilyn, I’m 26 and I’ve been working at being the perfect housewive for 6 years now, I was married 2 days after I turned 20, my husband is a engineer so he’s gone from morning until evening.
When I was a little girl I had dreamt of being a good house wife, and so now I am one.
I’m not saying its easy by any means, but it is so fulfilling! When I was 22 we bought our house and it is perfect, I think your house has a lot to do with being good at what we are all striving to do, you have to love what you work so hard to keep.
I have a 2 year old son and a daughter on the way in 3 months. The key is to have a great routine worked out!
I love being a house wive, I can’t see myself doing anything else. You do need prerequisites though, you need to be able to cook, clean, take care of your children, keep your husband happy, be able to sew, and have a good old fashion smile on all the time!
Good luck in your goals girls! And p.s. No curse words either! Nobody likes a lady with with a dirty mouth :)

I am also currently trying to live as a 1950’s housewife, although I am cheating a bit by using modern appliances. I remember watching wife swap a few years ago and one of the mothers had a reference guide from the 40’s or 50’s that sounded extremly helpful, but I can’t remember what it was titled.

New Expierement! 6 months ago

Hello,

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year and a half now and we tend to disagree or fight a lot. I really love him and we have been through a lot together so I want to stay with him. We have tried to change our ways but we keep going back to our same old ways of fighting. I recently was watching a t.v. show (wifeswap), and this woman caught my attention; she was a domestic housewife. I love the old days and wish I grew up then; so i'm going to try and portray a domestic housewife. I feel my boyfriend will be more appreciative and i'll be more happy i'm doing things my way in the house and making him happy. Any tips for me on my new expierement?

i’ve always loved children and being domestic (although cleaning doesn’t always agree with me :]) and i’ve never been able to make up my mind about what sort of career i’d like to have; but one that has always stook out with being a house wife. my mum and dad are divorced so mum was always working when other mum’s were colecting their children from school nd me nd my brothers had to go home with what ever babysitter mum could find that day. i dont want my children to go through that. but then there’s mum, man hater and i think closeted womans lib leader, she wants me to “want a real career and stop depending on men.” i’m sorry but i like depending on my boyfriend. not so much that i’m a complete pushover, he still knows who’s boss :P but i like being a woman nd cooking for him. not that i dnt mind a meal he’s cooked once and a while. i appreciate what our sisters before us have done to make men nd women equal, but is it too much to ask to be able to hav a choice between domestic nd power woman?

1955 housewife 10 months ago

I am currently living as a housewife in 1955 and blogging about my experience. My ‘experiment’ started 1 january 2009 and will run thru the year, if I can manage. I am using and reading only things from the 50’s trying to stay up to 55 (some things have had to go later into the 1950’s like my vintage 1959 Kirby vacuum which I love!) I am using the computer only as a tool to aid in this. Stop by if u like http://my50syear.blogspot.com/. This is a neet idea.

Finally, some people who don’t think I’m crazy! lol I just feel that the 50’s were an amazing time in America! The 1950’s housewife is my idea of perfection! Perfect mothers, perfect wives… perfect women! I want nothing more than to care completely for my husband and children. The women were soo cute too… with their knee-length skirts and ribbons! They were completely feminine and gorgeous. It’s my goal in life!

It gets tiring but imagine how our kids will thank us.. 16 months ago

I NEVER aspired to be a housewife. Anything but! Then I had my first daughter and just fell in love. How could I leave anyone else to raise her? It just came natural to me to be with her. After that we had 3 more :) I’ve been at home for 9 years now and can’t imagine getting up in the morning and leaving the kids to go to work. I like to keep a tidy home, devote a few minutes every day to it. I also make most of the meals at home but do love eating out on weekends. If I’m pulling my hair out I go to the park with the kids and visit with other moms. But think of how when our kids are older they will (hopefully) appreciate the fact that we stayed home and made them the most important thing to us. At least they don’t have to come home to an empty house after school! We are devoted to making our kids more confident and secure. Let’s give ourselves a pat on the back, we deserve it!
