In hindsight, we should’ve asked Mom first. This afternoon while Mom and Dad were at work, Jenny and I walked all the way to Albertsons to buy cake mix, eggs, food coloring, a cupcake pan, etc. When we got home they took forever to make. The colors were really hard to do. They turned out just okay in the end. We should’ve put less mix in each one because they rose too much, and probably should’ve put the papers in before baking them – I thought it wouldn’t make a difference, but it did! We colored the icing too and iced them all crazily once they were done. At that point we didn’t really care how they looked since they were so messed up. They’re delicious, though! Maybe next time we’ll do just white or one or a few colors. 3 years ago

How I did it: I made these for Mother's day. Just had white cake mix and food coloring and seperated the different colored batters in different bowls. And then I took about a spoonful of each and layered them on top of each other, starting with red to purple. They look so cute, and they taste better to me than normal cupcakes!!
