Dump Site :) 2 months ago

My garage still looks like a dump site : ) We did make some progress a while back but it still looks like a danger zone. There is just so much stuff : ) I don’t know how much we are going to be able to get rid of before the party.

Got rid of the fish tank 3 months ago

I got rid of the big fish tank by listing it on Craigslist. There is now more space in the garage. If we had to put a car in the garage we now can. I have to have my husband call the local dump to find out there hours so we can get rid of some old paint cans and computer monitors.

The 2nd Sweep 3 months ago

My husband worked on this goal a little more on Saturday while I picked up leaves with the leaf blower. The garage looks so much better. We can almost fit a car in the garage now. After we organize a few more times we will be ready for the garage sale.

Made Some Progress 4 months ago

My husband and I actually worked on this task today!!! I emptied some boxes and a couple of bins. We threw out a bunch of things and even put a few things in the garage sale pile. We have to put the mulch in the yard and still organize whats left. I am very excited about being able to see the garage floor in a few spots. We decided that we are definitely not going to buy a car until the garage is cleaned out. We also have to have a garage sale before I call the garage cleaned.

we worked on this the other day 8 months ago

I came home early from work because it was so nice, and we rearranged, pulled out winter clothes, etc.

I don’t want to say this is completely done…there are still some boxes full of random unknowns, and I’d like to organize the cabinet I have out there a little bette.

But I think I’m close to considering this done. Most everything out there belongs out there, has a certain spot, I know it’s out there, and it’s in labeled boxes.

books and bookshelf, now inside 12 months ago

A small shelf I was having trouble parting with ended up fitting perfectly in a new space I created, and I was able to bring all the strangler books inside too.

goodbye, dehumidifier 13 months ago

We have had a busted dehumidifier in our garage for longer than I’m willing to admit. I doubted my husband that we could find a good place to recycle it, but we did today, about 5 miles from our house, so it’s finally out of there! We made two huge trips to goodwill this week and I think it’s really apparent out there. We are the drop spot for our CSA this summer, so we have a definite deadline to get it in better shape (to not be embarrassed in front of our new veggie eating friends).

my howitzer shell 13 months ago

So my dad worked for a defense contractor when I was a kid, and I was able to get a howitzer shell, empty, without a cap. I thought it was cool…I always wanted to make it into a planter. I never really did…but I always wanted to. This thing has traveled with me to many houses, because it’s so cool! But what do you do with a howitzer shell? I was telling a story at work the other day about it and realized I could make it into a plant stand a lot easier than a planter. So I found an old piece of tile in the garage and made it into a plant stand today. It’s awesome! This weekend I organized a bit more out there and cleaned out a box (finding an undeveloped roll of film I had been looking for forever, too). STill some work to be done, books and CDs, etc., but I did make some progress.
