Seize the moment of excited curiosity on any subject to solve your doubts; for if you let it pass, the desire may never return, and you may remain in ignorance.
William Wirt
How to learn. learn. learn something everyday
How I did it: I have always been curious. I pay attention to what's going on. I explore new ideas as well as archives, works of philosophers of past and present, and my environment. I stay receptive and flexible, ready to reassess things learned previously and replace them with concepts more congruent with observed reality.
Probably the most important aspect of my approach to learning is that I am not content with believing things I am told. I will accept a reasonable theory about a subject as a working hypothesis, study and test it, and seek to find a perspective on the subject that I can justifiably say, "I know."
Lessons & tips: "Rely not on the teacher, but on the teaching.
Rely not on the words of the teaching, but on the spirit of the words.
Rely not on theory, but on experience.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
Do not believe anything because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything because it is written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
But
after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with
reason and is conducive to the good and the benefit of one and all,
then accept it and live up to it."

Now you do.
Today I learned how to drive stick, kind of. Not completely. But I understand it a little better now. I also learned how to eat with chopsticks and I didn’t drop my food that much! It was a very accomplishing day. I’m about to study French for a few minutes and maybe watch a foreign movie before I go to bed. Or I may read my book… I believe those are all forms of learning. I’m just the little learner today, aren’t I?

Today, at work, in between selling popcorn and sweeping up popcorn and giving out tickets.. (can you guess where i work)..I practiced memorizing a map of Europe, read, and wrote a short story in French. I felt I achieved a good amount for being at work. And it will never end. Learning will never die. :]
