Open a bookstore

I would love to have a book store, and the freedom to decide what will be there, and what will not be. Even working on the layout and organization would be great. This is something I would really like to accomplish, but currently it is little more than an idea. I do keep my eyes open, though, when browsing to try and gather information and get ideas for the future.

I’m just in the very earliest stages of achieving this goal, literally just researching right now. So if anyone has any tips, dos&donts, etc. I’ve got wide open ears for them!

I really hope this isn’t one of those ideas of mine that I have completely romanticized in my head.

Obviously there will be hard work and rough times, but it should all be worth it, right? I’m not trying to make a million dollars (thought it would be nice), I’m trying to do something that will make me happy.

I want people to leave our place refreshed from the food, fun, and fellowship. I need ideas,sources for top quality products.

My goal is simple I am creating a bookstore that caters to anime/manga fans. I want to sell new and used manga and anime. With a game lounge for demoing video games as well as offer a place to sit relax have viewings and just hang with people that like the same things. Any ideas on how to incorporate all of that?

Hello. Im a 24yr old female who just moved to the Phoenix area.
Arizona is a very spiritual place. By following my instinct it has allowed me to leave my hometown of 24yrs to embark on an adventure: LIFE!
I was lead to this site and hoping that I can find some inspirational individuals to aid, guide, mentor me in the process of opening a bookstore.
I will do this. Anything You set your mind to you can achieve. It’s really that simple. You have to believe.

a beautiful bookstore with nice tall shelves and multicolored spines and comfy chairs, with a coffe shop attached and i would sell sandwiches too, all in a city with shady avenues and jewel-tone leaves.

I’ve decided that once we move to Colorado I’m going to freelance design and get a job at a bookstore. Once I learn the ropes of how to run a bookstore, I plan to open one of my own. My niche is going to be Sci-Fi, Fantasy, New Age, and Spirituality books. And maybe I can sell candles and other new-agish type things.

I would love to select the stock on my bookstore: besides, I’d have all sorts of other things and stairs to reach up to the higher places and little caves where people could sit, relax and read…
