My ex-boyfriend goes to one with his friend all the time…
I wanna go sometime.
How I did it: My friend Chris and I rode down to a shooting range outside Lockhart Texas. The office was full of folks with heavy drawls and was decorated with rattlesnake skins. Chris paid for my day pass and let me shoot his .40 caliber handgun (after some practice with the unloaded version first). What a gentleman. Read how I did it…

I’ve fired rifles before when I was a kid, but I’m just curious to know what firing a pistol is like.
Bill is moving to Wash DC from Illinois 11/27 oh, hi. Did you miss me?
someone said that to me, and I want to say, in case anyone else is thinking this admonition is needed.
It’s not needed. I’ve been around firearms since I was 13, which makes that about 43 years or so.
It’s my opinion that ammo and cleaning fluid don’t mix.
It’s also my considered opinion that the ‘accidental death by shootings when cleaning weapons’ are thinly veiled reporting of suicides. Sad, but I believe it’s true for most of those cases, particularly of police or military deaths. Those folks know exactly what to do and not to do to keep bullets from going down the barrel and what to point the barrel at and not to point the barrel at. “Accidental deaths” have insurance pay-offs, where as suicides may not. That is why they may be reported that way, in my humble opinion. I’m very sorry if this offends someone who has lost a relative to suicide, which is a real tragedy, but it illustrates the confused issue of accidents when cleaning firearms.
I also believe that alcohol and ammo don’t mix, even on the coldest of hunting or shooting trips. no. matter. what.
It’s not like fishing from the side of a lake. It is like boat, though, since I have about as much experience afloat as with firearms. Seawater and alcohol don’t mix, unless you’re a paying passenger and not needed for the crew.
So, today I will clean the rifles to remove the gunpowder residue and to oil them for prevention of rust. Then, they will be locked away, with ammo separate.
And it will be safe.

In Wisconsin. There is a video, of course, and I’ll post the link here
OK… link works.

Mrsbill is not in favor of guns, shooting, hunting or … did I mention … me?
the guns and ammo are packed… A is mowing the lawn (he went caddying this morning and made $50!) and E is still out on the course caddying.
I’m going this afternoon, and will likely make a video, but won’t be able to post it.

Went for the first time during my 29th birthday weekend and was able to shoot 3 different kinds. Great experience.
My friend Todd took me on a Saturday night. We selected guns and ammo. He had to keep warning me not to talk with my hands while holding the gun. After I fired several rounds at the far off target (which I think I hit) we both looked down to find a pile of discarded shells nestled in my cleavage. Hey – now that I think of it, he took those shells and promised to make me some earrings…
B2kishot87 Ugh
I think this idea is influenced by me playing too much videogames. As long as I dont accidently shoot myself then its all good.
Shooting ranges are awesome. The power you feel and the adrenaline you get from that first shot is fantastic!
