stop the ice cream truck and get ice cream

Would do this more if the friggin’ ice cream truck would come down the street more often!! Argh!!!!

So I live in San Antonio, Texas. It’s a hot dusty run to head off that ice cream man and flag ‘em down, but I’ve done it before many a time. And it’s always worth it. ;)

I haven’t done this in so long, but all the time I see an ice cream truck…it brings back some childhood memories! An ice cream truck always passed by my cousins’ house and sometimes we would stop it to get ice cream…and other times we would just hide in their house and yell for it to “stop!” and not go outside. We would watch as the truck stopped and wait for no one. We thought it was the funniest thing ever!!!

Being that it is October, I didn’t think the ice cream man was in business. But I was sitting inside paying bills a few days ago when I heard that familiar music…
I was so excited..I ran outside with my purse. Sent the kids doen the driveway to stop him. They were out of alot of things, but I had my favorite..Chocolate crunch bar.
What is it about the ice cream man that gets me so excited? Well. not the man himself, he was kind of skanky..but you know what I mean…

I almost missed the ice cream truck, but luckily, some kids at the end of the street stopped her. Now I’m full up on ice cream. heh!

“Mum! I need some money for the ice cream van!” was a cry often heard escaping from the young dwlt’s mouth. Heard almost as often was the snappy response of “No”.

Sadly, I think that many ice cream vans now only sell drugs. Indeed, there’s a semi-famous gang war called “The Ice Cream Wars” for just that reason.

I have chased down MANY an ice cream truck barefoot in the summertime. Basically because I love lemon ice.
