Tristan I made it
I do this by literally stopping and smelling the roses. And my goal of ‘Shake up my life’ is the real focus right now.

Had to walk to work today because our transit system went on strike. And I enjoyed it. It was a beautiful walk that gave me time to reflect on this city and my life. It’s also steamy hot. Only a few months ago we were steeped in snow and chill. Now, this city is in full bloom. I love it.
There is beauty everywhere. All I have to do is choose to see it.

Each city has it’s own music. My city sounds like acid jazz – all the diverse elements of people and culture meld together to create a grooving beat. It’s summer weather here, this city’s best hour. Everything’s heightened and jumping.

It’s 2:03am and I’m awake, awake, awake. My sleep started off promisingly with me slowly drifting off to that secret land. Than the neighbour’s dog went beserk and another neighbour slamed his door; so now I’m awake, awake. I’m trying to stave off my craving for pancakes. Having them this early in the morning can’t be good. I’m still hopeful that I’ll find some sleep.
I like this time of day when most people are asleep. The city breathes at this hour. It breathes deeply, calmly. For the rest of the day it heaves like a puppy that’s had too much exercise.
No use going to bed now – I’m wide awake.
There’s a hopefullness to this time of day. I associate this hour with the excitement of travelling. I’m usually up doing last minute preparations before riding to the airport. It’s the intangible anticipation of this hour that I love.
The pancakes are calling me. My stomach is in dialogue with them.
I’d like to be outside doing something right now. Those times of staying out late with friends, chatting into the darkness. Or dancing. Warm summer nights.
In a few hours the sun will rise. It still amazes me the way the days meld into one another. Learning new things, maturing, taking steps backward, leaping forward unexpectedly. The days keep moving on and on. I’m getting older. Maybe I will have those pancakes.

I want my days bursting with flavour. This is what makes everything worthwhile – to try all that’s available to me and open new doors at the same time.
Yellow is one of my favourite colours. There’s a vase full of bright yellow daisies on my table, smiling at me as I’m typing. They remind me of happiness and sunshine. It urges me to push toward the positive, the new. They will be my mascot for this goal.

Yup, did this today. Spent the first half of the day reading the newspaper while Miles played in the background. The night was spent eating great food and enjoying conversations with interesting people.
It was my perfect day.
Today I had a blast after school talking to my friends and taking pictures. It was fun. Then I rollerbladed with my friend. Although not all of my day was fun(school because of homework) I just forgot about that and moved onto what I could enjoy.

Making each day count as if it’s my last one will make it all the more flavourful. This got added to my goals because I want to see more colours in my days, hear more noises, and taste more spices. I want the good and bad – they will give everything a fullness.
