Eat at Tavern on the Green

but the mood was not right for a meal. It was rainy.

perhaps a club sandwich and an iced tea are in order.

tavernonthegreen dot com says the Turkey club is $22. That has to be about half for the sandwich and half for the view. Maybe 1/3 sandwich, 2/3 view. Hey, it will be worth it.

no indication how much a glass of iced tea is.

but I would like to eat lunch there at least once in my life. How much can they charge for a tuna salad sandwich? It would be worth it, one time.

Maybe a BLT?

I had a business trip to NYC some time ago and I ate at Tavern on the Green with the other ladies on the trip. It was great, though I’d love to do it with my husband instead ;-) We even did the cheesy typical tourist thing and did a ride around Central Park in a carriage, went by where John Lennon died and all of that. The Tavern on the Green was really pretty and done up all in white Christmas lights…no sure if that is normal (I was there in Nov), but it was nice. And they had lots of game on the menu (like venison). It was cool and I’d definitely do it again.

The place is so much bigger than I imagined and I always thought that it had something to do with golf but now I know it has more to do with the park (Central Park). Sure it’s a touristy thing to do. Do it anyway.
