I may accomplish thsi goal. We have a 4 day weekend and I’m taking a day or two vacation to extend the weekend. So, it’s time to go to the beach and play for a day.

I did have fun on my vacation last year, I just didn’t forget about work…

Done this multiple times. It is fun unless you have something you really need to do instead.

We would like to arrange boardgame evenings (more like half days) more often, so if you visit Helsinki, Finland, let me know. Then you’d only need to play elsewhere for the morning and have games and company supplied for the rest of the day. :)

I’ll be on vacation and this would be a good goal for a vacation. Just spend a day surfing, skin diving, kayaking, whatever catches my fancy. Not worry about work, or school, or errands, or anything. Just go out and have fun. I think I can do this. No, I SHOULD do this!

I want to learn the things that I couldn’t master as a kid:

    hula hoop
    yo-yo
    cartwheel
    handstand
    pogo stick

And some I haven’t mastered as an adult:

    riding a wheelie
    doing a track stand
    bunny hop

I’d love to learn how to do a stoppie as well. :)

    This could be fun!

I spent a Saturday in Florida just hanging out at the beach. I did some surfing and a lot of swimming and playing in the waves. It was a wonderful feeling to not worry about havng to do errands or worry about needing to be someplace else. It wasn’t quite an entire day just playing, but it was as close as I have gotten in a long, long time.

As adults, we really miss out on a lot because summer is no longer a time for relaxing, playing, meeting new people and learning new things. Instead it’s just more time spent at work. And in the U.S. it’s even worse since we typically only get 2-3 weeks of vacation a year. Someday companies might realize that allowing your employees time to really relax pays off in the long run.

I’m back home now and this weekend will be full of yard work, errands and paperwork. Maybe I’ll grab my mountain bike and ride up Brown Mountain. I haven’t done that in a year or two. It’s time to reclaim my freedom!
