I feel like we all played our parts of being the needy, whiny, lazy and even unthankful people who have played their roles in doing only things that benefits them. By being of service to others is a very fulfilling reward that makes life a little more meaningful. Being in canada makes me feel grateful that I don’t have to stress about my love ones in war, or stress on money and education. To those who do have to it’s a tramatizing mental thought they will never be able to overcome. So for us to have the ability to even help make a smile happen is something we are capable of doing and should do. Don’t let hope be their only friend.

ouch – the last entry on this goal was 16 November 2005. I wonder if people are doing this sort of work on another goal ?
It’s not about whether someone has the right to be in line at a soup kitchen or not, but my right as a human being is to be able to serve my fellow man in a way that is humbling to my soul.
I was back for another session at the soup kitchen last night. This time, I held the key to the building. So I needed to be first to arrive.
The roster was to include two other people helping – however one failed to show up. So things were a bit frantic.
We made sandwiches, soup, and desserts (the stannard menu). There were a few new faces amid the crowd.
And rattle those pots and pans. I’ve been helping at the local soup kitchen for more than a year. It warms my heart seeing these folks get a good meal – particularly on chilly winter evenings.
