I’ve had to take a few weeks off from upper body weight training due to a sprained wrist. Tomorrow I’m going to test myself with greatly reduced resistance to see if I’m ready to go back to a full workout. Hopefully I haven’t lost too much strength!
i weigh 133 and am 5 ft 10 inches tall, really skinny. but i am benching 190 7 reps and have lifted 200 before.
been woring out 3 years but started benching 2 years ago at 10 reps 50 lbs.
Got a free session with a personal trainer at Bally’s. She pushed me to 5 reps at 135, and it paid off.
i weigh 88kgs at the mo, and i can bench 78
to kgs to go! should be there in a month, maybe 2
well i’ve never even like tried benching until this year (im 14) and i can only do like 100 lbs. i weigh around 125, so im shooting for at least 150 by the end of the (school) year
I checked my weight about a month ago to find out I was only 140 lbs! So I kicked up my eating and rejoined Ballys to workout. It had been 3 years since I did any weight training.
I think I have a routine better than I ever have before. I’ve already gained a few pounds while looking great. Secret: less reps, more weight. In the past I always did at least 3 sets of 10 reps. I lowered the reps to 6 after reading something online that said “stimulate not annihilate”. It made sense. I was always over training in the past and getting nowhere. I’m real positive about this time.
I figure that by the time I’m able to bench my body weight, I’ll be at least 155 lbs. So that’s what I’m shooting for. Right now I’m only benching 90lbs @ 6 reps. I’ll post back with my progress.
