How we did it: with lots of help from our friends. :)
1) We joined SPUD (www.spud.ca / www.spud.com)
2) We planted a garden
3) We joined a food-buying co-op that our friend had started, which orders from Horizon distributors every other month. A bunch of us (20+) go in on caseloads and get up to 50% off retail prices of organic and natural foods.
With those three efforts combined, the final frontier to be conquered is meat! We are eating less meat, which allows us to buy locally grown, organic or hormone free and ehtically raised meat. This is the last thing that needs to become habit. 4 years ago

I’m marking this one off. Good job, me! :) I’m a granola-head, it’s official. 5 years ago

I’m doing pretty good on this goal. I’ve been buying only organic produce and dairy, and cereal, which is pretty much most of what I eat.
My husband seems to be a little resistant to buying organic because it costs more, but I think it’s really important. I’m not going to mark this one off yet, since I like getting the reminders for it. 5 years ago

I’m trying to do this, with a measure of success. The grocery stores around here all have a very good selection of organic items now, luckily. I’m trying to eat all organic produce, since those are the foods that contain the highest pesticide residues. It’s hard for me not to be all-or-nothing about this, but trying to eat “mostly” is a good, reachable target. 5 years ago
