I really want this for a long time but I just don’t have time for it.
I really want this for a long time but I just don’t have time for it.
I’ve taught myself the very basics of guitar playing, but I realized that getting better requires huge amounts of time, effort and self-discipline if I want to keep doing it by myself. To make things easier I’ve decided that I’m going to take some lessons, because it’s always simpler when someone’s telling me what to do and showing how to do things instead of having to figure everything out by myself.
I now have a guitar and lessons are in order.
If anyone can suggest an instructor who would be suitable for a beginner at a reasonable price. By all means do so!
My goal is to begin lessons no later than the first week of March.
the guitars will hang on the walls there inviting anyone to play them…
Tonight I rocked out (in my head) while playing Three Little Birds, Wild Thing and Eleanor Rigby. Well actually I didn’t really rock out with the last song – more like a melancholy sort of sway. I’m really enjoying these lessons. I’m going to miss next week though because I’m going to a concert but I have checked with the tutor and the next note is G. I already know G! But we picked up so many handy little tips like how to play the notes in the start of Three Little Birds so I hope I don’t miss too much. I have dents in my fingers which will ease as they get tougher. Not too big a sacrifice.
I started guitar lessons tonight and really enjoyed it. I already know some of the chords but can always do with more practice in changing chords in a song. My major weakness is my strum. I have one very well entrenched strum and it doesn’t suit every song I play. I’m looking forward to really making strides here.

“Anyone know a good teacher in NYC who would be interested in trading for private yoga lessons?”
