Celticjgurl is going to cousins house to celebrate his graduation from highschool.
Hey everyone. About 3 months ago, I picked up a copy of a certain book at Barnes And Nobles near my house and had a revelation. The title was simply “Wreck This Journal By Keri Smith.” I flipped through it wondering what it was and soon became interested with the creativity and strangeness to this book. I went home empty handed that night but soon went back for more grabbing a hardback blue notebook with clean no-line white paper and copied all the activities out of the real “Wreck This Journal.” Set on this one book, I thought of more activities and began the book. As of today, I have my book, it’s cover is collaged, the edges bent, dirt smudged on pages, cologne from stores sprayed on a page, holes poked, pictures took, stories written within and so much more. I also now recently have a website, www.mywreckthisbook.weebly.com which is soon to have picture of my book, has ideas 70 so far to be exact and information to start your own. Even though the real book is great I have found that making your own is way more rewarding!

I got it! I got it after class yesterday afternoon…and it’s awesome!
I was flipping through it on the train ride home and this lady sitting next to me I could tell she was looking at it too thinking “what is that?” haha.
Can’t wait to start destroying!

Ok so I’ve decided to buy the actual book cos I checked out some prices and it’s half the price of the one in Taiwan, so I’m happy with that :) If you live in Sydney I guess you can use this as a price guide (these are all in store prices):
1) Dymocks $16.95
2) Angus & Robertson $20
3) Borders they dont sell it
4) Coop Bookshop (with 10% off for members) $15.42
I might pick up a copy this afternoon…so excited!

When I was holidaying in Taiwan last year, I saw the “Wreck this journal” book in a bookstore. There was only one copy and after flipping through it quickly I thought “Wow this is really cool!”. I thought it’d be especially great since I always get “creative blocks” and it just sounded fun. Anyways, the book was at a price that I thought was “too expensive” so I left it. And then the other day I saw that someone had as a goal to create their own “wreck this journal” book…and that reminded me of the book I’d seen in Taiwan. So now, naturally, I am going to carrying out this goal!
First step: get a book (I don’t think I’ll buy the book). I’ve seen some wrecking suggestions on the website. Awesome :D!

I just got my sister to add an entry to my WTJ. She drew a crazy strawberry which was purple because it was rotting, apparently. My WTJ’s going pretty well! I’m looking forward to doing some more tomorrow.

I've started!
I started making my WTJ today. I was going to use a moleskine, but decided to use a big pink floral journal instead. It’s going to take a while to fill up.
So far I’ve written a letter to myself with my left hand, kissed a page whilst wearing lots of lipstick, sprinkled sugar on a page and made a drawing around it, and ripped out a page and stuck it back in an envelope.
This is fun! :D

It’s strange, but since my last entry I haven’t really wanted to work on my journal at all anymore.
This is really typical of me. I’ll get all fired up about a project and go whole-hog on it, then suddenly burn out and not want to do it anymore. Though I had lots of fun doing it, and learning all the things I learned, I just don’t feel passionate about my Journal anymore, for some reason.
Maybe it was the “book sock” I put it in. It was a mesh laundry bag with a drawstring, like you might wash lingerie in. Does a great job of holding the book together, but it’s ugly and it keeps the book out of my attention.

Dizziwish is not an artist, but has created a masterpiece.
I’m starting pages of cat prints, i have 1 page so far with 2 cat print sets, one because my dear kitty Agatha seems to think sitting on my journal is how to get involved and the other because my other dear kitty Orwell came home muddy :) i placed the journal infront of his bowl and then put kitty biccies in it. He happily stommped all over it.
