I have some credit card debt that I’m working on paying off. It’s not easy, but I’m sick of it and can’t wait to get rid of it!!

What’s important to you? Focus on that. Everyday. Live within your means and use your resources to bring joy to others when you can.
Paid off all the credit cards using the snowball effect. Worked great.

I just got rid of $3,800 of my debt. That’s more than half. My bank offered me a deal where I sign over my entire tax return ($1,800), and they forgive the extra two grand that I owe.
As much as I’d like to have the check for myself, paying this off is more important for the future.
I am completely out of debt!
Now, on to my husband’s debt! We are clearing it out!
The plan is in place, now all we have to do is stick to the budget. Isn’t that always the hardest part? I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…
One overdraft has been paid off, income is flowing in nicely, no massively extravagant purchases have been made recently, and I’ve even managed to save a bit.
Ha. Take that, financial ruin.
Enough of this financial ruin! I am sick of being constantly on the verge of brokeness, getting sweaty palms every time I swipe my card in case it declines…
Steps to take on this goal:- Budget (cannot be too oppressive, however, otherwise I know I will not stick to it)
- Track my spending for a whole month and figure out where my money is going (January will be a good time to do this)
- Open a separate account (in addition to regular cheque and savings) for indulgent purchases so that I don’t end up bleeding other accounts dry and can reward myself with said indulgent purchases for good work in other areas of life
I am currently $2000ish in debt. I will be receiving a $4000 scholarship mid-March. Of that, $1000 will go toward paying off debt with one bank so that I can close my account with them. The rest will be put into my other savings account until I decide what should be done with it.
