I will get SCJP first, and MCST (pre-requirement for MCAD) later.

I want to be a MCAD mostly because I want to master .net development when I don’t have a chance to use .net in a real project.
But if it won’t help my career in the future, it might be a waster of money. Self study could be better for money consideration but also might fail eventually because lack of pressure.
can i crack mcad in 6 months????
inform about fee details plz….
Worth doing because it was a tough accomplishment. Has it “helped” my career? Not really, but that’s probably because I’d rather use linux, apache, mySql, php . . . so get it if you’ll use it or if you job requires it. I had to take the Web Apps test twice. I recommend taking XML, Web Apps, and Windows Apps. I recommend the “Exam Cram” series books for the last-minute studying before the exams.
I bought a couple books on getting ready for Exams 306 and 310 yesterday, they’ll be delivered tomorrow. And this week I downloaded VB 2005 Express and have been looking at it over the last couple days. Currently, I design forms in VB6 so I’m excited to see all the new controls and to learn the ins and outs of this new IDE!
I’ve changed tracks…I’m now studying for the MCPD (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcpd/webdev/)
I have started reading the ASP.NET 2.0 core reference from Microsoft Press.
wow I’ve been studying since November! this was the c# windows exam. next up is 70-315 c# for asp.net apps. going over the exam cram books (which I recommend) the material looks like there is plenty of overlap, so I (optimistically) predict I’ll be ready in 2 weeks… hey putting these “promises” in public writing seems to motivate me :)
the time estimate of almost 3 hours confliceted w/other plans. I was all ready to go (was even at the testing center) when I saw that and chickened out. turns out it really should only take about 90 minutes. well, I’ll really be ready the next time I’ve got a chance (2 weeks).
