I reached another one of my benchmarks today. 600 finds.

Firewalker is visiting for the weekend. We grabbed the GPS unit and headed the next cache on the list. We were momentarily befuddled, but quickly remembered the unit’s quirks and after a bit of looking in the wrong places spotted the first cache. Booyah!
The second cache seemed impossible to find. We finally trekked back home. Upon pulling the Geocaching listing up we discovered that the cache location is a starting point, and that we needed to draw clues from the cache listing to find the cache itself. Maybe tomorrow.
I have finally hit the big 500. I could have done easier caches to get this high, but I wanted this milestone to be more difficult than a drive-up lamp post cache so I waited until I had the opportunity to do a multi-cache. My feet got a little wet and the skitters were out in force, but nothing was going to deter me from my goal.
How about telling your user name on geocaching, then i can have a little spy on what you’ve found!
I am Henryshakleton, who are you?
I did 5 caches today in beautiful Edisto Beach. I have slowed down alot because now I have alot more going on in my life. The march (or is it crawl?) towards 500 continues.
I didn’t reach my 500 before 2008 goal so now I just want to have fun with this hobby Since no new caches are being placed here in Beaufort, I have to travel farther to find them. I want this to stay fun so now I won’t pressure myself to set goals to achieve.

The Little Black Beast and I found 2. We would have hit a third one, but the beast decided to take off on his own, so we returned home. Naughty Doggie!!!
It was a fun experience. The first one we found I’ve looked for in the past without using a GPS. The GPS unit I have didn’t get me any closer, but it left me more confident that I was in the right area. The clue for this site is “red”. I don’t know what that’s about. You can see all the red in the photo came with me. Unless it was this:

I’ve got my GPS unit (a Garmin GPSMap 60Cx Handheld GPS Navigator) and a copy of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Geocaching (The Complete Idiot’s Guide). There are several caches nearby … tomorrow I hope to find a few!
I continue to push myself to reach my geocaching goal of 500 finds before this year is over. When I do get to go caching, I try to hit as many as I can.
