write more music

I discovered my lack of manuscript paper is not really encouraging this goal much….need to make it a “to-do” to pick up some this week.

I have to overcome this shyness with my music! I think something that I fail to realize that if people don’t like my music, they don’t HAVE to listen to it, and that it’s a great expressional outlet for myself and is my true passion. I put off doing music because I get writer’s block quite a bit, but any music is better than no music. I want to push the boundaries and explore!

and haven’t written a song in many years. I started writing music when I was 4 and won multiple competitions with my compositions over the years. When I was in 4th grade, I started studying with a professor at a nearby university who was also a resident composer, and later studied also with a published composer who introduced me to various ways of playing with notes and exploring creativity. I have the software, I have a recording studio, I have a piano, I have instruments, I have knowledge….yet I have not written in a long long time.

I have no doubt I could get something published…I like to write the more technical stuff, and even though most of my experience is with piano, I could easily write for clarinet or even rhythm sections. No limits….it is just a matter of motivation and doing it!

I just need to sit down and do it!!! Why don’t I??

Ok, I’ve got my computer, a guitar, a keyboard, and a USB audio interface, and some decent software. Now I just need the inspiration and motivation to write some more music.

There’s a couple of things I think are holding me back. One, I tend to believe all the good songs have already been written. Two, when I come up with an idea, it’s hard to make it become a full-fledged song. It’s like all my songs are “rough drafts” and need a whole lot of refining, restructuring, and reworking. This is especially difficult when I go and listen to professional songs that have been refined, mixed, and mastered to perfection. I think, “How did they think of that chord progression? And that beat is awesome.” Not that I can’t write some cool stuff, but it just gets frustrating at times.

I didn’t actually write a song, but it is pertaining to music. I’ve never sung by myself in front of people. I was extremely nervous. But I definitly feel like God sang through me and I wanted to thank Him for it. And even though it was sad not having cas there he works everything out for good and through this I got over a fear.

I written a lot of lyrics to my songs, is so simple! Soon dicovered that i have a passion on writing lyrics. Eh, my passion is to draw, since i was small! I when I was 3 or 4! And 3-4 years ago discovered that I have a passion on singing, yes, singing whit a lot of passion:) Eh, Now I have a program where I can create any negative of any music. posted there on taht forum what music kind I would like to create! But more cool! Can you help about the instruments and effects? And what type of drum kits they use?
I never had a music teacher, I learned myself.

I play the piano and I sing. I have allready written two songs, but I have alot on my heart and so much more could be put to music. I plan to only write worship music. Because if God isn’t inspiring me, I don’t think I can do it as well on my own. I have an awesome opporunity to reach students my age, and I plan to take full advantage of it.

The movie August Rush (despite how unrealistic and unoriginal the storyline was) really inspired me to start writing music more. I feel like I really am capable of writing great classical and folk music by the time I turn 16 if I really try for the next year or so.

I didn’t like how they put together his “prodigy” skills in the end. The piece he wrote was not very good. I could have written something much better and I don’t have nearly as much music training as he supposedly had, nor did I begin playing music with a guitar. Still a good movie nonetheless!

By the by, did anyone else see that movie? It’s hard to believe the Freddie Highmore (main actor of August Rush) is older than me and looks half my age.
