K~ carpe diem
While he’s suggesting things to do and letting me prepare everything, he’s mostly inactive and only in the last moment ruins everything. There are always a million reasons to not do this or that and this saturday afternoon was no exception.
I didn’t tell the kids that we planned to go to the circus. I’m glad about that. So I was the only one who was disappointed…

I got the tickets way ahead of time, they were great seats at a good price. I even took off of work to go, my boyfriend and I were going to make a day of it. The circus started at 11:00am and we woke up early, took breakfast with us and enjoyed the hour and a half long car ride to go see the Ringling Bros. We talked about the food and the acts they might do. He’d never gone to a big stadium like this to watch a show and he was excited.
Then we pull up to the place and circle around, there weren’t any people waiting in line. We were wondering what the problem was. I found the nearest parking garage and it was empty which it wasn’t when I watched a hockey game there last. I was so confused. We went to the building and opened a door. It was locked. We were only a half hour early, I figured there would at least be lines and more cars. We stood there for a moment and then I asked him to pull out the tickets. The date was right, the time was right… and suddenly there it was.
We were at the wrong place! Where we needed to be right at that moment was 2 hours away. The circus would be over by then!
I couldn’t believe it. I kept telling him I was sorry because I knew he was so excited for it. He said it was okay and suggested we go to the big mall there instead. “Oh okay,” I said sarcastically, “Let’s spend more money.” He just smiled.

I went to barnum and bailey cirucs last summer and it was awesome!!! The only bad part was the fact that I was probably one of the oldest people their. (besides the parents)

Just to clarify this ambition, I don’t mean an ‘airy fairy’ circus with clowns and performing animals… I want a thrilling, awe-inspiring experience that I’ll never forget.
The closest I’ve heard of is ‘Billy Smarts’ and ‘nofitstate’, which has been described as dark and mysterious…

Although I’ve been to many Cirque du Soleil performances, my first real experience was at the circus in ChimeLong, China. It was the animals that gave it the authentic-feel. They have all kinds of animals most probably because they’re located next door to the zoo. I do hope they’re treated with lots of care.
Mind you, Cirque du Soleil shows are breathtaking and a must-see!
