buy MYSELF flowers at least once a month

I’m a plant killer. I can’t bear to bring home a perfectly lovely flowering plant, knowing it’ll be dead in a matter of days. Doesn’t matter if I read the instructions and give it light/water accordingly. Either the cat will eat it or the man will use it for a trash can or SOME awful thing will happen, but that plant is doomed.

sigh…

I buy myself all kinds of other stuff, but not these. Today, for example, I bought myself transparent glittery jelly shoes, a make-your-own-garden-stepping-stones kit, hair dye, shaving gel that’s supposed to keep your hair from growing back as fast, a scented candle and some Twizzlers. (As you can see, I have no trouble treating myself.) I miss being near a Publix with a full-service floral department where you could get a single rose or a couple of carnations and they’d be of better quality than those poor things at the gas stations. :(

The cut flower bouquets I see at the grocery stores are too expensive. Gorgeous living flowers in the garden section are really cheap, but I’m afraid that if I get them, I’ll kill them, as I’m not super great with plants. Of course if I got cut flowers they’d die right away anyway, but I’d feel more responsible for it if I bought the potted ones and let them die. Don’t know if that makes any sense, but that’s what’s been stopping me. I’ve been getting great pleasure out of observing the flowers while I’m out, but its not the same as having them right there on the desk or the nightstand, you know?

so does that mean I get to buy myself three times as many flowers this month? ;) Flowers good.

They don’t have to be expensive to make my world a little better.

I had a coupon for $3.00 off a flower arrangement at the grocery store. So I bought a large mixed bouquet. It’s beautiful!

... and I can pick wildflowers along the road instead of buying them and I think these are just the best flowers I’ve had all year!
