I did a tandem hang glide in australia once, it was incredible, felt like I was just flying unaided, I wanna learn how to do it myself!

to do this for SO many years now. Definitely something I have to do before I die.
Will 43 Things still be around then…assuming I still have a few decades left?
Have always been fascinated with it. Don’t know if they even do it anymore.
JRinDC is cleaning up and doing errands -- hurray for labor day!
Grew up watching folks hang glide off of the gunks…hope to do it at least once myself one day soon! :) ...then there’s rock climbing! wish me luck!
Bigmighty is wasting time in the Net.
You need hills to go hang glinding, something we don’t have much of here in Florida. Instead, I’ll go parasailing.
I tried really hard. I took about 20 lessons when I was living in San Francisco. I even bought my own glider. I was never able to relax enough. If you hold the glider too tightly, it dives to the ground. One day at Dillon Beach this guy got turned downwind into the hill, and he crashed and died. He was the same age as me. They actually closed Dillon Beach to hanggliding after that incident. The final straw was at Fort Funston. I had just landed on the beach, and this newbie got target fixation on me. I could see it happening. He kept looking at me, so his glider kept coming at me. I ran toward the cliff to get out of his way. I was still hooked to my glider. He barely missed me. His leading edge ripped a hole in my wing, and he crashed into the cliff. I think he dislocated his shoulder. That was the end of it for me. I’m kind of a klutz at sports, so it takes a lot of practice for me to get good at something. I need a more forgiving sport where the mistakes don’t kill you.
