I signed up for an advanced trial advocacy class that scares the absolute tar out of me. I am actually much more nervous about the content of the class – I have to make determinations on a lot of evidentiary issues and that makes me much more self-conscious than the actual public speaking portion of the class. And the class is frustrating b/c I no longer intend on ever being an attorney, yet along a litigator. But the experience I gain speaking confidently about things I am unsure about in here will not doubt be useful in the future. I do take every public speaking opportunity that presents itself these days. 3 years ago

I had my second non-profit org. board meeting tonight. This was the first time that I was presenting an issue I had researched and taken action on to the wide variety of partners that compose the board. I spent the afternoon practicing what I was going to say in the 3 to 5 min presentation and I am proud to report that it went off w/o single “ummm” or “hmmm.” I am making another presentation in January – bring it on. 3 years ago

I joined Toastmasters about a month ago and should be giving my first ‘ice breaker’ speech within the month. I am looking forward to it… Now if I can only figure out what I should use the time to talk about. 4 years ago
