write an article for publication

I’ve gotten the final word that both articles will be published. I had to do revisions on both that weren’t too arduous. I still have to go through the galley phase, but by summer this will be ALL DONE.

FYI, One article has been accepted pending some revisions which aren’t hard and that we are working on now. Haven’t heard about the other one yet.

I submitted article #1 yesterday and #2 about an hour ago. I can’t believe how arduous this whole process was. I spent most of last week STILL doing editing AFTER the articles came back from the professional editor. She and I had some disagreements about how clear certain, individual sentences were. I can’t believe how many times I went over and over and over the things. I’m sick of them! They had better get accepted (even if it’s with revisions.) I don’t think I can stand it of I have to rewrite.

I think it’s a measure of how stressed out I am over this whole thing….I seem to have forgotten my basic employee number for work. I can’t seem to get logged into the work e-mail, and I know it’s because I keep not getting the number correct. And the ID card with the number is back in the city. I’ll give it a rest until next week. Probably my fingers will remember on another day.

I’m done with the co-authors and both articles are in the hands of a technical editor. So maybe next week, I’ll be finished! I hope so. I’m real sick of these things.

Both articles are in the hands of the co-author who will have the final stamp of approval. I have to do the final pass over checking for formatting things, but I’m hoping this will be done soon.

Article one is out for final review by co-authors. Article two needs some stuff added by a co-author, but I have all the stuff. I’m taking a day off today, but because I’m anxious to get this done, I may decide to work on it over the weekend.

One co-author got her stuff back to me. I gave the others until July 1. I can see that there will probably only be minor changes and then a close look at the formatting to make sure it’s ok and then at least one article will be good to go in early July.

I will have the drafts of both articles before I leave town to go visit folks in my hometown. I’ll send them out to co-authors while I’m away so I won’t have to worry about stuff for a week.

They are each about 2/3 to 3/4 done. The bodies of the two articles are mostly done. I just have to write 2 more or less new endings and beginnings. Then there’s all the formatting, getting the references done. etc.

We decided to cut the thing in 2 and submit the different parts to 2 different journals. More work now. I put in for a summer stipend to get it done.
