How to live in a different country

a mix of emotions
 "Every day is a new experience."
How I did it: I moved for love. My boyfriend, Erik is studying right now, and a long distance relationship can only be that for so long, so I decided to move to Sweden to be with him. I had visited him here a couple of times, and loved it. Although, I was aware that I was seeing the country as a visitor, and day to day life isn't always as rose-tinted. I moved in with Erik almost three months ago, and so far it's going well, I'm learning Swedish, and I hope once I have my first formal certificate in learning Swedish, it will be easier to get a job. Lessons & tips: Research where you plan to live, visit as much as you can before you leap. If the language is different, start learning as soon as possible, of course you'll be surrounded by the language once you get there, but it's always good to have a head start. If you're sure it's right for you, then you make the arrangements. If you have a friend in that country, I would advise either staying with them, or finding a place close, you will need friends, especially when your family might be very far away. And good luck! I had always wanted to live in the United States for awhile, but never really thought about it. Then the chance came while I was taking a year off school. I took it, and 4 months later I moved to Florida where I stayed for 8 months. It was fun and a good experience! Its something worth doing if you can!

I’m really curious about the world and into learning about other languages and cultures. I think it would be really fun and interesting experience to move to another country (English speaking or not) and learn about it’s ways.

Worth doing, if only to realise that you have to get up, go to work, bank and pay bills wherever you live.. Mind broadens the travels, not the other way round!

We went and lived in Mexico for 2 months to learn Spanish. It was the most stressful 2 months of my life. If I were to move out of the country again (long-term)- I think it would have to be to England. The Mexican culture was just a bit too much for me to handle.
