CLEMSON Portfolio 8 months ago

At school, we have a portfolio that must be completed before graduating. It seems to be a great idea because it saves you a lot of work in the future. When it is time to get a job, there will be so much things that you can give the employer to prove that you are much needed for the job.

I have to get that together and make sure it is filled with my best work ever.

Worth It! 3 years ago

I took so much time to get my portfolio together over the last couple of months. Now that I am thinking about it, I still need to re-shoot two pieces that have some bad photos. The photos I am using now are okay but not great. My husband is going to take some photos on location at the business I designed for, for one of the re-shoots. So that will be great and he is a great photographer so I am stoked. I also took a day this week and went through my husband’s side of our website and tweaked the design and linked together a bunch of descriptions he wrote that still weren’t posted. This feels good, and now I want to make a postcard to send out to old clients and contacts that may need design work. I also must note that the portfolio I put together has already gotten my husband and I some really cool projects. Soooooo, YESSSSS!!!!

I'm not sure why I kept putting it off. 3 years ago

It actually wasn’t that hard to add the new things to it. I guess I just didn’t want to think about the shows that I had to put in. But now they’re in there and I don’t have to worry about them anymore. Yaye!

Today is the Day 3 years ago

I am getting a bunch of small printed things together today so that when my husband comes home at 4:30, we can shoot outside before the sun goes behind the trees. Some of these things are requiring printing on my office printer cuz I lost the originals so that sucks. It’s so hard to get colors to come out correctly and match from print to print this way. If we can snap one good shot of a dozen pieces, I will feel like I can stop shooting for a while. The other factor of this is that I should really make sure I have every small piece shot before it gets all snowy outside. Big stuff is fun to shoot in the snow and the colors are always perfect in the winter, but I would like to get this small stuff knocked out this week if possible.

Waiting.... 3 years ago

for a sunny day so I can take a couple more photos of some projects. I am finally starting to realize that this is just a full-time hobby for me. Now that I am pretty well caught up, I am going to try to stay on top of it more than I have been. Once I make a few more changes to the website, I will send an announcement email to my friends and colleagues with a link. Another thing I am doing this weekend, is redesigning my resumé. I am really good about updating it, but there are things I can do to make it sit on the page in a more attractive way. So, that’s what’s up over here. Too bad we can’t all be on the clock for all of this type of work!

I posted some new work on my website,

My husband is still uploading his new work, so the video page will be up by the week’s end. Ch-check it out.

Photos today 3 years ago

I took some photos of work to add to my portfolio today. I also am coming closer and closer to getting my site posted on the web. I want to get it done tonight but it may have to wait, we’ll see.

Step by Step 3 years ago

Even though I am incredibly busy with an upcoming deadline, I took the time out today to write a cover letter, update my resumé and make a digital portfolio book. I have sooo many more things to photograph to really have my portfolio together, but this was a start. I printed more mailing labels and cd labels so when I need to promote myself, I will be a bit more ready.

Back on Track 3 years ago

I started working out text and designs for my website and thinking about code. I need to get a reel from my husband because it would really suck to put my stuff up and not his. I at least need to get our contact and info up because our name was just added to a website that gets lots and lots of traffic everday.

Back Burner 3 years ago

Well, I haven’t worked toward this goal in a while, with all of the moving and settling going on. I am sort of considering applying for a job, yes, a job, at a local design studio which shall remain nameless. I am not sure why, I mean, the goal was to not have a real job, but this seems like it might be fun. Maybe even just for the experience of applying it would be good for me?
