own a mac laptop

amazing :)

I love my macbook pro. Sometimes it locks up if it’s been sitting in “awake” mode for too long instead of being “asleep”, and I’ve had a few problems with syncing CDs on to iTunes (the burn speed is very slow and has locked up my computer on two different occasions). Other than that it’s been very reliable.

apple has a nasty habit of disappointing me by coming out with something super awesome every time i purchase their products.

i am sick of being a consumer.

• #1 Have owned a pretty decent HP laptop since 2004, however almost a year ago it pretty much fried out and was rendered useless until end of summer ‘07 when I spent a whole weekend fixing it.

• #2 My brother gave me a G4 Tower and 24inch Cinema Display in the spring of ‘08. By the time the summer rolled around the display’s bulb burned out (which costs around $450 to replace). So I was pretty much without computer.

• #3My boyfriend’s mom gave us her work computer after she closed her business (which is a regular PC tower and screen…oldie but a goodie).

So, THEN for my b-day in September I bought myself a brand new Mac Cinema Display for the lonely G4 Tower and low and behold the tower is now ridden with kernel panics and is completely done for.

So, NOW I only have this OLD pc laptop and OLD pc tower and screen (which is basically just for my boyfriend’s iTunes and internet).

I’m thinking of taking out a loan from my step-dad, which I did about year ago when I needed a new camera. If I buy the computer this month at about $3,000 and pay off about $125 a month (plus a scholarship overage of $700 this month) I should be able to pay it off in 18 months. Not to mention I can then get my amazing student discount on the Adobe Creative Suite and actually have a computer to install it on!

i got my macbook yesterday.
i have never felt so happy in my entire life.
i am a geek and i love computers.

i used to own an ibook g3. it was a great computer until the logic board died. a new macbook with leopard is in the mail as we speak.

It is amazing. It’s waaaay better than any Windows laptop I’ve worked on. I never have any problems with it. It can handle heavy graphic design work very well for a laptop; it is quite fast.
Macs don’t get viruses either…everyone I know with a PC have soooo many more problems.
Plus it comes with iLife, which is pretty cool, and Photobooth, which is awesome!
Macs are not only sleek & clean outside, but inside. OS X is incredibly simple to use & keep organized. Unless they royally screw up future models, I’m a MAC lover for life!

It’s great. I’m typing on it right now, lol.
The only problem is that sometimes programs freeze unexpectedly… but otherwise, everything is a lot easier to keep track of. It’s also very stylish. =D

i had two before. one of the first computers. the big, ugly ones. and the latest one, i think it’s the power book or something. anyways, i accedently loaded a virus on to it so now it’s screwed up. But luckily i got that laptop for free therefor i hadn’t wasted any money buying it cause those things are damn expensive now! now i own a PC, i think they are so much better compared to the mac’s. but that’s just my opinion…

I have an old iBook.
I was expensive, its slow.
The only good thing about them is that they are designed properly.
You can’t buy a computer based on design, it has to be about its guts.
