    David 3 years ago

has been stating that his legs are longer than mine and the twin bed I bought him is no longer working. So today I went to Art Van and picked out a new mattress set for him. I told them I’d pick it up from the warehouse… I thought the Grand Caravan would be able to hold a full set, not. So they found a Master String Man, who I’m guessing was a Boy Scout at some point to tie it to the roof of my vehicle. I had to take the long way home, but I did it. I could have said, “Oh well, have them deliver it.” Or called someone else to help me out… When I got home, David was more than happy to take the pieces in. Now I have to go new bed linen because there are no sheets for a full size bed in the house~

Plan for next fall~ 3 years ago

    Team teach

There are 4 4th grade teachers who all plan to take on 3 subjects each. We had an extensive dialogue about our plans and will be meeting next week to continue working on them. It’s exciting to do things differently and try something new.

Met with the Principal 3 years ago

and the other 3 4th grade teachers this afternoon. We reflected on the year and our students standardized test scores. Her focus was to get us talking/thinking about what we can do differently. There is always a small or large change one can make in order to show progress. I would have to admit that having higher expectations for parental participation and support is where I’d like to start in the fall.

Trying to take care of it all on my own is not the way to go. I think breaking the support down into small, manageable steps is better than laying down an overwhelming picture of what’s in front of their child may encouage then to hang in there with me… and not giving up if I don’t receive an overwhelming response in the beginning of the year~

My Mom said 3 years ago

That when it comes to getting my goals completed (in reference to publishing) I always talk about who I’m waiting to collaborate with. In so many words, she told me that I don’t need to wait on anybody… I have the info I need to proceed and make my dream come true…

So I’m no longer waiting for:
    Adam or
Aaron to work on a project… perhaps later, just not now. They have been my excuse long enough~

    Last weekend 3 years ago

Challenge one I was tired after work on Friday, but I pressed on and went to the concert in the evening. I called my Mom because it looked cloudy, like it might rain. She encouraged me to go on anyway…and I did.

Challenge two I was on my way to see RL and my cell phone rang, it was my brother telling me my nephew was in town (from Florida) and they were having a party for him as we spoke. I was not happy about the last minute notification, but told him okay. RL wasn’t home when i got there, so i called him (he didn’t answer) left him a voice message and told him I had a detour, but I’d come by after I stopped by to see Jeremiah. I’m glad I stopped by, I haven’t seen him in about a year.

Challenge three I drove to my best friend’s Mom’s birthday dinner, which was over 40 miles from home. This after being up all Saturday night, going to church despite having little sleep, running errands after the service and needing to complete my report card sheets. My daughter and I got home an hour after her bedtime. I got ready for the week, finished the scan sheets, went to bed late…but had a great weekend!

Bonus I ran an additional 2 minutes at the park on Saturday…up to 15 minutes, between walking ;)

At the end of my work day~ 3 years ago

I was tired, especially after the heat permeated my classroom this afternoon. I went to the gym anyway. I walked/ ran on the treadmill for 24 minutes, then I went to Powerflex class a day earlier than I’d planned. Being on the treadmill definately woke me up.

I ran for 3 minutes at a time and did some walking in between. Slowly but surely…I’m developing this skill, never thought I’d want to run. The movers and shakers (my inspiration for this goal) are RL and Ms. Bryce ;)
