This was a great experience and I hope to go again. It helps that we have family in Austin and very much enjoyed hanging out with them also.
I got to see tons of artists; my favorites were Iron & Wine and Jose Gonzales. But, the big names didn’t disappoint either. Foo Fighters was one of the best classic style Rock concerts I have been to in a long while. Xavier Rudd is someone I want to hear more from. I got to dance around to some old Mano Negra songs (they would have been an awesome concert in their day).
Even the food was tasty and reasonably priced (local restaurants, versus corporate concert style stuff). A great way to cap off a summer, as it is surely fall here now…

Everyone needs to do this at least once. Yeah, it’s hot, and it’s a little expensive, but do it while you’re young and stupid. It was an incredible experience.
Tom Petty, John Mayer, Flaming Lips, The Raconteurs, The Shins (front row!!1), Thievery Corporation, Muse, Iron & Wine, Aimee Mann, and Phoenix (got to meet the band and got autographs!!)
And those are just the bands I felt like seeing.

If you’re, say, over the age of 20, I’d suggest not even trying to get near the stage. I’ve had the most fun just hanging out with my friends in a central, less-crowded area, and making excursions to the acts we want to see. It’s a lot less stressful that way and a lot more relaxing, cuz being out in 100-degree weather all day is hard enough…
