Annie Moore was the first immigrant to the United States to pass through the Ellis Island facility in New York Harbor. She is honored with two bronze statues at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum and in Cobh, the Irish seaport from which she sailed. In the statue in Cobh she is looking toward New York and the statue in New York she faces Ireland. I have had my picture taken with the statue in Cobh. Someday in the next few years I would like to go to New York and have my picture taken with the one on Ellis Island 3 years ago
